Step-by-Step Guide to Certify Your Business Exemption for the Delaware EARNS Program

1._Delaware EARNS
Navigate to https://earnsdelaware.gov
Select the blue button “Register a business” inside the orange Employers box
2. Employer Verification
Enter your FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number)
Enter the Access Code provided by the State of Delaware via email or letter from Vestwell
Click “Begin”
3. Program Election
Confirm that the Business Name at the top of the page is correct
Select the box named “Certify my exemption”
Click “Continue”
4. Program Exemption
Select the reason for your company’s exemption from the program from the list provided
Enter your name, the name of the person filling out the questionnaire
Check the box “By checking this box, you certify the information above is accurate”
Click “Confirm Exemption”
5. Program Exemption Successful
You will be brought to this screen, and we suggest that you print and save this screen and the “Exemption Code”
We also suggest that you click “Email me the exemption code” and enter your email address
6. Your Business is now Exempt
You will receive this email confirming that you finished certifying your exemption.
